Canadian Business Magazine Features MCHC
December 1, 2012 – The influential Canadian Business Magazine, in its December issue, carried a special 10-page supplement on the activities of Métis Capital Housing Corporation and the 30-year history of its operation of affordable housing through Métis Urban Housing Corporation.
Summing up the relationship between the two organizations for the Canadian Business readers, A spokesperson for both organizations, was quoted as saying: “Metis Urban Housing Corporation has been built and operates based on a partnership with the federal government, while the Métis Capital Housing Corporation owns the majority of their 200 properties outright – and operates as an independent business.”
She went on to add that: “We are exercising our newly found independence away from the stringent rules under the realm of government control, capitalizing on the opportunity and proving that we can run a successful business by ourselves, capable of addressing the housing needs of our communities in an appropriate manner.”
Habitat for Humanity Edmonton (HFHE) welcomed a family to its new home in the Beverly neighbourhood Wednesday.
The renovated house is one of five being fixed up through a unique partnership with the Metis Capital Housing Corporation (MCHC).
